Pet reptiles can be bought not from any breeder, as there are many irresponsible breeders. The Gila monster (Heloderma suspectum) and the Mexican Beaded lizard (Heloderma horridum) are venomous lizards. The Gila monster has a venomous gland in its lower jaw and its bite is very painful to man. The animal’s venom may kill small mammals.

These lizards occur in pink to orange, and patterns are highly individual. These lizards live in underground burrows, and bury their eggs 5 inches deep in the ground. Clutches usually count 2-13 eggs that may over winter and hatch next spring.
